How to find and edit the membership expiring soon (renewal) notification

This guide explains how to find and customise the automated email sent to customers when their membership is about to expire.

Written by Costa Bontioti

šŸ“ Overview

When a customer's membership is about to expire, they're automatically sent a renewal reminder email with a link to renew. This notification is called Customer Membership: Expiring Soon.

āš ļø This notification is enabled by default and can't be disabled. You can, however, customise its conditions and email content.

šŸ› ļø Find and Edit the Notification

Head to Communications āžœ Notifications āžœ Customer Membership Lifecycle āžœ click Detail next to Customer Membership: Expiring Soon.

  1. Review the conditions, such as which membership types this applies to.

  2. Edit the email subject and body. You can use placeholders to personalise the content, such as the customer's name and membership renewal link.

  3. Save your changes.

šŸ“¬ If Customers Say They Didn't Receive It

The most common reasons a customer misses this email are it landing in spam, or the customer having unsubscribed from notifications entirely.

  • Ask customers to whitelist our notification email address so future emails land in their inbox. See the relevant guide here.

  • If a customer has unsubscribed, they'll need to resubscribe to receive automated emails again. See the relevant guide here.
