How to Update Your Terminology

This guide explains how to rename key terms across your account so they match your business's preferred language and branding.

Your account includes a Terminology section that lets you rename certain terms used throughout the platform. This is helpful when the default labels do not match how your business describes its offerings.

For example, you might prefer "Class Passes" instead of "Memberships", or "Court Booking" instead of "Rentals".

When you update a term, the change applies everywhere it appears: on your customer site, in the dashboard, and in customer-facing areas. The original term is shown in parentheses next to your custom name so you can always see what was changed.


πŸ› οΈ How to Edit Your Terminology

You can rename terms from the Terminology section in your account settings. To make a change:

  1. Navigate to Settings ➜ Terminology.

  2. Click Edit next to the term you want to rename.

  3. Enter your preferred term and save your changes.

Once a term has been updated, the original name appears in parentheses next to your custom term, as shown below:

Where do my custom terms appear?

When you rename a term, the change applies across the platform, including your customer site, dashboard, and customer-facing areas. For example, if you rename "Memberships" to "Class Passes", customers will see "Class Passes" when browsing your offerings.

Can I rename any term on the platform?

Only the terms listed in the Terminology section can be renamed. Other labels and navigation items throughout the platform are not customisable at this time.

Can I revert a term back to its original name?

Yes. Go to Settings ➜ Terminology, click Edit next to the renamed term, and change it back to the original name. The original name is always shown in parentheses for reference.

Why don't I see the Rental option in my Terminology settings?

The Rental terminology option is only available to businesses that have the Rentals feature enabled on their account. If you do not use Rentals, this option will not appear in your Terminology settings.
