📝 Overview
The Memberships page on a business's Customer Site is where you can browse the memberships, packs and plans on offer, keep track of the memberships you already hold, and make a purchase.
This guide walks you through buying a membership, changing to a different plan, cancelling, and topping up a class pack, along with how to read your memberships at a glance.
🛒 How to Buy a Membership
New memberships are bought from the Memberships section of your account. Simply select a membership, confirm who it is for, how you would like to be billed, and then complete your payment at checkout.
The process and details change slightly depending on the membership type you're purchasing, but you can find out more about the three available membership types below.
Each card under Available Memberships shows the membership name, a From label above the price, any joining fee, a description, and a Buy button.
There are three types of memberships, and each displays its price differently. We'll explain how pricing is shown for each type in more detail below.
📦 Pack Memberships
Packs give you a set number of classes to use up, paid for in one go, often with an expiry date by which they need to be used. In the Memberships section, they display a single price followed by "/one-time".

🔄 Recurring Memberships
Recurring memberships bill you automatically at a fixed interval, such as weekly or monthly, and keep running until you cancel. In the Memberships section, they display the lowest price on sale, followed by the billing frequency. For example, "/per month", "/per week" or "/per X months".

Once you've selected an option, a cost breakdown will appear. Review the details, then click Continue to Checkout to proceed. In the Complete your order screen, you can confirm who the purchase is for, choose your payment method, enter your payment details, apply a discount code if available, and review any relevant Terms & Conditions before completing your purchase.
🆕 Upgrade an existing membership!
Where available, you may be able to upgrade an existing membership instead of purchasing a second one.
Click the arrow to learn more about upgrading your membership
Click the arrow to learn more about upgrading your membership
The system will identify any active memberships that are eligible for an upgrade, allowing you to increase your usage under a single membership.
This option will appear on the Complete your order screen underneath the terms and conditions.
When you choose to upgrade an existing membership, the Complete your order page will show your updated payment amount, including any applicable credit from your current membership. This credit will be deducted from the total amount due.
🔂 Prepaid Plans
Prepaid plans cover a fixed period of time, paid for upfront, and end when that period runs out rather than renewing. In the Memberships section, they display the price and the length of time it covers. For example, "£70.00 for 38 days".

↕️ Upgrading/Downgrading a Membership
You can change your existing membership if you want to increase or reduce your usage. Upgrades and downgrades work slightly differently, particularly when it comes to when the change takes effect and how your payments are adjusted. Find out more below.
Click the arrow to learn how to upgrade/downgrade your membership
Click the arrow to learn how to upgrade/downgrade your membership
Click Upgrade/Downgrade option to the right of your membership.
In the Choose a Plan panel, review each option. Each one shows the plan name, when it starts ("Starts immediately" or "Starts on {date}"), its cancellation policy ("Cancel anytime", "X days notice to cancel" or "Contact the business to cancel") and its price.
Select the plan you want and click Confirm.
Review the Confirm Plan Change window, which shows the plan you are moving from, the new price, start date, commitment length, then click Continue to checkout.
In the Complete your order screen, you can confirm who the purchase is for, choose your payment method, enter your payment details, apply a discount code if available, and review any relevant Terms & Conditions before completing your purchase.
Your existing plan is cancelled for you as part of the change, so there is no need to cancel it separately. Click Cancel in the panel to close it without making any changes.
💡 The Upgrade / Downgrade option does not appear for packs, prepaid plans, plans that are set to cancel, or plans with no other options to move to.
⬆️ If you're upgrading:
The change takes effect immediately. Any overpayment from your previous bill is credited towards the amount due for your new plan.
⬇️ If you're downgrading:
If you're downgrading: The change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, or at the end of your commitment period if your membership has one. Until then, you can continue using your current membership as usual.
❌ Cancelling Your Membership
Where the business allows it, you can cancel a recurring membership from its details page. Your membership stays active until the end of your current billing cycle and will not renew after that.
Click the arrow to learn how to cancel your membership
Click the arrow to learn how to cancel your membership
❌ Cancelling
In the Your Memberships section, click Details next to the membership you would like to cancel.
In the pop-up which appears, you'll be able to see your payment history for this membership, receipts for past payments, and the option to upgrade/downgrade it (when available).
If you're sure you would like to proceed with cancelling your membership, click Cancel Membership.
In the next window, you'll see a final confirmation of your cancellation details, including your next billing date and any notice period required by your plan.
Click Cancel Membership to confirm, or Keep Membership to close the window without cancelling.
Once cancelled, the details page shows the alert "This membership is set to cancel" and the date line changes to show until what date this membership will remain valid.
Your membership stays on the Memberships page until it ends, and will show that it is "Expiring", along with the option to renew it.
If something goes wrong, you will see "We couldn't cancel this membership. Please try again."
📣 Notice Periods & Commitments
If your plan has a notice period, the notice period is added to your cancellation date, so a payment due within that window will still be taken and your membership stays active to the end of that billing cycle.
⚠️ If you agreed to a minimum commitment period, your membership will not end until that period is complete, and you will continue to be billed until then.
🚫 When You Cannot Cancel Yourself
The Cancel Membership button does not appear for packs, prepaid plans, memberships on hold, or memberships that are already set to cancel.
When a plan can only be cancelled by the business, you will see "To cancel this membership, contact the business." instead. Get in touch with the business directly to cancel.
🔁 How To Top-Up & Renew
Packs can be topped up and cancelled plans restarted without searching the full list. Use the action button on the membership's row under Your Memberships, or open it from My Account ➜ Memberships if it has already ended.
Click the arrow to learn how to top-up a pack
Click the arrow to learn how to top-up a pack
Topping Up a Pack
Navigate to your Memberships section, and click Buy More on your pack's row;
Or you can click on Buy More Classes on its details page.
The Confirm purchase window opens for that pack with the person who holds it already selected, so you only need to check the total and click Continue to checkout.
A pack that has already ended is no longer listed under Your Memberships. Open it from My Account ➜ Memberships ➜ Details, where Buy New Pack is available.
Click the arrow to learn how to renew your cancelled/expired membership
Click the arrow to learn how to renew your cancelled/expired membership
♻️ Renewing a Cancelled Plan
A cancelled plan that has reached its end date is no longer listed under Your Memberships. Go to My Account ➜ Memberships ➜ Details, click Renew Membership, choose a billing option, then click Continue to checkout.
A renewed recurring or prepaid plan starts the day after your current one ends, so you do not lose any time you have already paid for.
⛔ Memberships You Cannot Buy Again
Some memberships cannot be bought again online. A plan the business has taken off sale, or a membership limited to one per customer, shows Details only, and its details page explains that it can't be bought online and to contact the business.
A membership for new customers only still offers these buttons, but checkout will explain why the purchase can't go through if you are no longer a new customer.
🧑💻 Navigating the Memberships Page
The Memberships page brings your current memberships and the business's full range of memberships together in one place. Open the Memberships tab on the business's Customer Site to get started.

Click the arrow to learn more about finding your way around the page
🗺️ Navigating the Page
The page is split into a Categories menu and two main sections, so you can jump straight to what you need. Click any entry in the Categories menu to scroll the page to that section. The menu highlights the section you are currently viewing as you scroll.
Categories: on a computer, this menu sits on the left. Your Memberships is the first entry, followed by one entry for each membership category set up by the business, with the number of memberships in each.
Your Memberships: shown with the subtitle "Manage your current memberships", this section lists the memberships you hold, with the most recently started first.
Available Memberships: shown with the subtitle "Explore and purchase memberships", this section lists the memberships you can buy, grouped under category headings in the order set by the business, with uncategorised memberships shown last.
📱 Mobile View
On a phone or smaller screen, the Categories menu becomes a horizontal tab bar above the page that you can scroll sideways.
When a business offers a large number of memberships, more cards load as you scroll down. If a set of cards fails to load, a Load more button appears so you can try again. If the business has nothing for sale, you will see the message "No memberships are available right now."
👨👩👧👦 Filtering by Family Member
If you manage a family account, the family filter lets you view memberships for one person at a time. Use the row of buttons above the Your Memberships list to switch between family members.
The filter shows All plus one button for each family member, each with the number of memberships they hold.
Click a family member's name to see only their memberships, or click All to see everyone's.
When All is selected, each membership shows the name of the person who holds it, so you can tell whose membership is whose.
A membership that can be used by everyone in your family group shows a Shareable tag.
💡 To learn how to set up and manage a family account, see the guide here.
🟢 Understanding Membership Statuses
Each membership under Your Memberships shows a status badge and a short line with its key date, so you can see at a glance where things stand. Each row also shows a usage bar where classes are counted, a Details button, and up to one action button.
The usage bar is empty when you have not used any classes yet and fills up as you use them, with the number of classes you have left shown alongside it.
Active | The membership is active and can be used. The date displayed depends on the membership type: Valid until for memberships with an expiry date, Renews for recurring plans, or Started if no other date applies. Packs display Buy More, while plans with alternative options display Upgrade / Downgrade.
A membership scheduled for cancellation will continue to show as Active until it ends. Instead of showing the renewal date, it will display the last day the membership remains valid. |
Upcoming | The membership has been purchased but has not started yet. The date line shows the membership's start date, or Starts on date of first registration for packs or prepaid plans that begin when you make your first booking. Only Details is available until the membership starts. |
On Hold | The membership has been paused. The date line shows "Paused" and only Details is available. |
Expiring | The membership expires within the next 14 days. The date line shows when it is set to expire, with Buy More and Details available. |
Memberships that have ended are kept off this list so it stays easy to read. That includes expired memberships, cancelled memberships that have reached their end date, and packs where every class has been used. A note under the list links to My Account ➜ Memberships, where every membership you have ever held is still listed.
📄 Viewing Your Membership Details
The details page gives you the full picture of a single membership, including its usage, payments and terms. Click Details next to any membership under Your Memberships, or under My Account ➜ Memberships, to open it.

✅ What the Page Shows
Back to memberships returns you to the main Memberships page.
The header shows the membership name, its status badge, its date line and its price. A recurring plan with no end date shows "Next payment {date}". On a family account, the header also shows which family member holds the membership.
The Details tab shows a Usage this period card, which is hidden for unlimited plans, and a Payment history card for plans or a Purchase card for packs.
Prepaid plans show their start and end dates, and a plan bought ahead of a future start date shows when it will begin.
The Terms & Conditions tab shows the terms the business has set for the membership.
Action buttons, such as Upgrade / Downgrade, Renew Membership or Cancel Membership, appear at the bottom when they apply.
🧾 Payments & Billing
For a recurring plan, the header shows how much you pay each billing period and the date of your next payment. If the business displays prices without taxes and fees, the amount shown here is before taxes and fees, and the full amount charged appears on your receipts.
Payment history lists your past payments, ten at a time, with Previous and Next to see more. Each payment shows its status, such as paid, pending or failed, and a paid payment includes a link to its receipt. Any refund appears as its own line, and you will see "No payments yet" if nothing has been paid.
To change the payment method on a recurring membership, go to My Account.
📈 Usage This Period
The Usage this period card shows how many classes you have left, for example "4 of 5 classes left", together with the date your allowance renews or expires. A pack with more than one limit always shows the total number of classes in the pack here.
If your membership has extra limits, a Show usage details link appears under the card. Click it to see any limits on particular class types, listed under "Of these {count}", and any daily or weekly caps, listed under "Also limited to", each with how many you have left.
When one of these limits is used up, its line turns red and shows when it resets, and the section opens on its own so you can see why a booking is blocked. When you have used every class in a recurring plan's allowance, a Limit reached badge appears with the date you can book again.
⚠️ Alerts
An alert may appear at the top of the page to explain the membership's current situation:
This membership is set to cancel | The membership stays active until its end date or the end of the current billing period, and will not renew after that. |
This membership is paused | The membership is on hold and cannot be used to book classes. Contact the business to resume it. |
This membership was cancelled | Shows the date it was cancelled. Use Renew Membership to continue booking classes. |
This expires soon | Shows the expiry date and how many classes remain. Use Buy More Classes to top up. |
You've used all your classes | Every class in the pack has been used. Use Buy More Classes to keep booking. |
This pack has expired | Shows the date the pack expired. Use Buy New Pack to keep booking. |
If the page cannot be loaded, you will see "We couldn't load this membership. Please try again."
