š Overview
To keep your Memberships list tidy, your dashboard only shows memberships that are for sale or that still have active members. Memberships set to Not for sale with 0 active members are hidden from the list by default, but they are not deleted, and you can show them at any time.
This guide is for Owners, Admins and Staff Members with access to the Memberships section of your Business Dashboard.
š” Not for sale means no new purchases can be made, either by Customers or by you on a Customer's behalf. Customers who already hold the membership can keep using it. Active members are Customers who currently hold an active membership of that type, shown in the Active Members column of your Memberships list.
š Authorizations
Owners and Admins have full access to the Memberships section. Staff Members with Limited Permissions only see the sections their permissions allow.

Memberships that are not for sale stay in your list while at least 1 Customer still holds them as an active membership. Once the membership has 0 active members, it is hidden from the list by default.
You can check the count in the Active Members column. To see who those members are, see the guide here.

Only memberships that have never been purchased can be deleted. If any Customer currently holds or has held the membership, it cannot be deleted because the data is needed for historical reporting, so setting it to Not for sale is the way to retire it.
For more details, see the guide here.

Yes. The Not for sale status only stops new purchases, including purchases made by you on a Customer's behalf.
Customers who already hold the membership continue to use it as normal.
I want Customers to buy a membership without it appearing on my Customer Site. Should I set it to not for sale?

No. A Not for sale membership cannot be purchased at all. Instead, keep it set to For Sale and set its visibility to Hidden in the Customer Site section of the membership settings, then share its direct link with the Customers you choose.
For steps on finding that link, see the guide here.
