How to set up Age Restrictions

This guide explains how to set up age restrictions on class types, how they display on the calendar, and what customers see when registering.

With age restrictions, you can create class types for certain age groups, so only customers within a set age range can register. This guide covers how to enable the feature on a new or existing class type, how it displays on the calendar, and what customers see when they register.


🛠️ How to enable age restrictions

You can set an age restriction when creating a new class type or by editing an existing one. Choose the relevant option below.

1. Head to Classes/AppointmentsClass Types ➜ click Create New.

2. On the new class type page, scroll to 'Set Age Restriction?'.

3. By default, 'No' is selected. To turn on the feature, select 'Yes'.

4. Selecting 'Yes' lets you set the minimum and maximum age.

1. Head to Classes/AppointmentsClass Types ➜ click the desired Class Type.

2. On the class type page, click the gear iconEdit.

3. On the class type page, scroll to 'Set Age Restriction?'.

4. By default, 'No' is selected. To turn on the feature, select 'Yes'.

5. Selecting 'Yes' lets you set the minimum and maximum age.

📆 Calendar display

On the Customer Site calendar, when an age restriction is set up for a class type, the age filter displays on the left side. The calendar cards also display class types with age restrictions in day, week, and month views.

💡 To hide the age filter and ages from calendar cards, head to SettingsRegistrationCalendar and click Edit.


🧑‍💻 Class registration

When customers try to register for a class, a callout appears if their age is not within the restriction set for the class type.

A different callout appears if the customer's date of birth is not in their profile, stopping them from registering until they add the information.

What happens if a customer's date of birth is missing?

A callout will appear and the customer won't be able to register for an age-restricted class until they add their date of birth to their profile.

Can I hide the age filter and ages from the calendar?

Yes. Head to SettingsRegistrationCalendar and click Edit to hide the age filter and the ages shown on calendar cards.

Can I set an age restriction on an existing class type?
