Sending Broadcast SMS notifications

In this guide, we’ll show you the process of sending Broadcast SMS notifications to your customers. This feature allows you to enhance communication by sending important announcements in a broadcast message.

Navigate to feature

  • Head to Communications >> SMS >> click 'Broadcast Message'


Select customers

In this section, you’ll learn how to effortlessly select customers to ensure that your important announcements reach the right audience quickly and efficiently.

💡Please Note:

In order to receive Broadcast messages, customers must Enable SMS notifications on their account.

  1. To enable SMS, customers need to have their phone number verified. They can use this support guide for guidance.

  2. Once verified, customers will head to My Account >> Notifications

  3. In the new SMS tab customers can turn on the Broadcast Messages and Marketing SMS

  • The 'Select Customers' page will have a list of all your customers. It will show their SMS eligibility, marketing preference, and contact info.

  • To select all, click the box in the top left corner of the list OR select each customer individually.

  • When done choosing your customers, click Create Broadcast SMS


Create SMS message

In this section, you’ll learn how to customize SMS messages to allow you to quickly send important announcements to your customers.

💡Please Note:

If you plan to make the Broadcast a marketing message, customers need to turn on the “Customer opt-in for Marketing SMS” toggle under My Account > Notifications > SMS

  • The 'SMS Message' will have a text box for you to write your message

  • You can choose to make your broadcast a marketing message by selecting 'This is a marketing message'

    • If selected, the system will take into account whether or not your customers have toggled “Customer opt-in for Marketing SMS” under My Account > Notifications > SMS

  • A yellow banners will appear to show the total number of customers that will receive the SMS message

  • A red banner will appear with the number of customers who cannot receive the SMS message. Click 'Show All' to inspect the cause.

    • No SMS Account means they need to enable SMS on their account

    • Phone Number not Verified means they're in the verification process of enabling SMS

Once you have your message ready, click 'Preview'


Send SMS message

In this section, you’ll learn how to preview your messages before sending, ensuring your important announcements reach your customers just as you intend.

  • Now you can see the final preview of your message

  • The yellow and/or red banners will also appear with the option to click 'Show All' for the list of customers receiving or not receiving your message.

  • When you are ready, click 'Send'

  • The page will then show Process >> Complete when your message has sent successfully


View reports

In this section, you’ll learn how to quickly locate the Broadcast SMS report, allowing you to track the performance of your messages and gain insights into customer engagement with just a few simple steps.

  • Head to Reports >> Customers >> Communications >> click 'All SMS Messages'

  • Under 'SMS Type' you can now select 'Broadcast Message' to create a report.
