Deleting Forms

This guide explains how to delete a form, which forms cannot be deleted and why, and what happens to the customer data collected through a form.

Written by Costa Bontioti

📝 Overview

You can delete any form your team has created when you no longer need it. Deleting a form removes the form's name and structure from your account permanently.

Deleting a form does not delete the customer data collected through it. A form is simply a way to collect information; once collected, that information lives on as the customer's value for that field, independent of the form.

🧠 Example

If you deleted a form you had used to collect customer height, the height field would still exist under Settings ➜ Customer Fields, and all the height data collected would still be available to download from Customers ➜ Customer list ➜ Export filtered list.

🗂️ Which forms can be deleted

Any form created by a staff member can be deleted. A set of pre-loaded forms, created automatically by the system, cannot be deleted because other areas of your account rely on them.

The forms that cannot be deleted are the Signup Form, the Non-Participating Signup Form, the Contact Form, the Emergency Contact Form, and the Customer Form.

💡 Even though these forms cannot be deleted, you can add or remove fields on them to tailor them to your needs. See the guide here, and for what each pre-loaded form contains, see our Signup Forms guide here.

🛠️ How to delete a form

Open the form from your Forms area, then use the Details option for that form and select the red Delete button. On the next page, tick the box to confirm you understand the implications and click Delete Form.

Why can't I delete certain forms?

Click the arrow to see the answer

If the Delete button is unavailable, the form is one of the pre-loaded forms the system relies on: the Signup Form, Non-Participating Signup Form, Contact Form, Emergency Contact Form, or Customer Form. The Signup Form can never be deleted, and the others cannot be deleted because the system expects them to exist.

Instead of deleting them, add or remove fields to tailor them, as covered in the guide here.

Does deleting a form delete the data customers submitted?

Click the arrow to see the answer

No. Deleting a form removes only the form itself. Any information customers submitted through it remains on their profiles as their value for that field, and stays available to view and export.

You can still download it from Customers ➜ Customer list ➜ Export filtered list.
