Connecting your customer account to a new business

This guide looks into how you can register as a customer with a new business using your existing TeamUp account

If the new business you've joined uses TeamUp as its booking system and you already have a TeamUp account because you've used it with a different business in the past, you can use the same TeamUp account to register as a customer with the new business as well.

There's a few ways you can get this done, and we'll go through them below.


πŸ—οΈ Log into your Account and Register

The easiest way to join a new business using your existing TeamUp account would be by logging into your account, visiting their customer site, and registering with them directly.

Your TeamUp account can be used to join any number of businesses which use TeamUp for their online bookings, so you can view all your registrations, memberships, payments, e.t.c. for all the businesses you're a customer of, in one place, and you won't need different email addresses and passwords to access each business or account.

🧠 Example:

You can create a TeamUp account registered to your email address, and use that same TeamUp account to register with Business A for Yoga classes, Business B for Swimming lessons, and Business C for CrossFit, and you can manage everything under one TeamUp account, registered to one email address.

Because of this, if you already have an existing TeamUp account, you can use that same account to register with new businesses as well.

To do this, you'll need the customer site url of the business you'll be signing up with, and once you have this, you can view their dashboard where you can register for Classes, Appointments, Courses, and make Store or Membership purchases.

πŸ’‘ You can't register with a new business via the TeamUp Member Booking App, so you'll need to complete the registration on your mobile browser or computer browser, but once that's done, you'll be able to access their dashboard on your App as well.

When you attempt to do so (register for an event or make a purchase) you'll be given the option to Log In or Sign Up, and if you click on that button, you'll be directed to log into your TeamUp account (if you're not logged in already).

πŸ’‘ If you've entered your email address but have forgotten your password, you can reset your password in order to continue with your registration.

Once you log in, you can continue with the registration process, complete any necessary forms or waivers, and that's all!

πŸ”” Once you're logged into your account, you can click on the Home option on the top-right to view all the businesses your TeamUp account is registered with, and you can click on any of them to view their dashboards.


πŸ“¬ Being Invited to Join a Business

The business you're joining can also sign you up as a customer, and this will send you an email invite which you can accept and complete your registration from there.

If you have an existing TeamUp account but you don't have access to it at the moment, you can ask the business to add you as a customer to their business by signing you up using your email address, and this will send you an invitation to join their business via email.

The invitation will look a bit like this:

Once you click on that link, you'll be redirected to the TeamUp login page where you can log into your account, and complete your account registration.

πŸ™ Sign Up and Merge Accounts

Some times, customers forget they have an existing TeamUp account, or they make a mistake when typing their email address during the registration process. That's okay!

You can sign up again using the correct email address, or the business can sign you up with the correct email address, and then merge your accounts so that you keep all your info under the correct TeamUp account.

Some times, we might create duplicate accounts, either because we entered the wrong email address during the signup process, we might have misspelled our email address, or because we forgot we already had one. No worries!

If you signed up with the same business more than once, and now you have multiple TeamUp accounts, or you have one TeamUp account which you can access and one which you can't (because there was a spelling mistake in the email address you entered), you can let the business know, and ask them to merge your accounts into one. Let them know which email address you'd like to keep, and they can merge your both profiles into one.

Why can't I see a business I have been added to as a customer when I go to the Home section?

You won't see the new business on your dashboard until you've accepted the email invitation to manage your account. If you haven't accepted the invite yet, this means you haven't completed your signup yet, so please check your inbox, complete the signup process, and you'll be able to see this business in your dashboard.

Can I sign up with a new business via the Mobile App?

No. In order to access a business via the TeamUp Member Booking App, you will first need to complete your signup with the business first, and then you'll be able to access their dashboard in the app.

How can I see all the businesses I've registered with in my TeamUp account?

Once you log into your account, you can view all the businesses you're registered with using this account by going to the "Home" section.

When logged into your account on a browser, the Home section will be on the top-right next to the log-out button.

When checking this on the TeamUp Member Booking App, you can tap on the hamburger icon (☰) on the top-left, select Dashboard, and you'll see all the businesses your account is linked to there so you can switch between them.
