📝 Overview
You may need to update the bank account that your payments are deposited into. In this case, you may have considered replacing your Stripe or GoCardless account with a new one, however, there's a much easier way to achieve your goal.
Below are instructions for changing your bank account payments are paid into directly in your Stripe and/or GoCardless account, depending on which service you use.
Stripe
If your payments are processed via Stripe, follow these steps:
Log in to your Stripe Dashboard.
Go to your Payout Settings (or Bank Accounts / Banking section).
Update the bank account information to your new account.
Follow Stripe’s verification process (if required).

⚠️ Changing your bank account in Stripe affects future payouts. Past payouts already in transit will go to the old account.
GoCardless
If you use GoCardless to collect payments, here’s how to change your payout account:
Log in to your GoCardless dashboard at manage.gocardless.com.
Go to Settings ➔ Account settings, then click Edit account details to open the setup section.
In the Account details area, click Add bank account, then click Update next to the bank account you wish to change.
Enter the new bank account number and sort code (or IBAN, depending on region).
GoCardless may require you to complete a verification process (for example, making a verification payment or uploading a bank statement), depending on the currency.
Watch for an email or notification from the verification team. Once verified, future payouts will go to the new account.

⚠️ During verification, your account may be under review, payouts may be delayed depending on your setup and region.
🧑💻 Tips & Pointers
Ensure that your new bank account supports payouts in the currency you use.
Make sure account and routing numbers are entered correctly (no typos).
Keep an eye on both Stripe / GoCardless dashboards for verification status or any error messages.
Plan ahead: if there’s a verification period, update before a payout is due.
