πŸ“ Overview

This guide provides an overview of the On Demand Content feature β€” what it does, how the pieces fit together, and what the experience looks like for your customers.

With On Demand Content, you can make pre-recorded videos available to customers based on their membership. You decide which memberships grant access to which content, and customers can watch videos from their account on the Customer Site or Member Booking App.

🎯 What can I use it for?

On Demand Content is flexible and can work in a number of ways. Here are a few ideas to get started:

Share class recordings

Upload recordings of online classes and give customers access afterward, so they can rewatch or catch up on content they missed

Sell pre-recorded content

Offer workout bundles, courses, or individual sessions that customers can purchase and access at any time

Share exercise guides and demos

Record movement breakdowns or warm-up videos to complement your live sessions

Repurpose your content

Turn live recordings into multiple assets, on-demand videos, short clips for social media, and more

πŸ› οΈ How it works

Getting started with On Demand Content takes two steps:

  1. Upload your video to a hosting platform. Videos are hosted externally (such as on Vimeo or YouTube) and linked to the platform. For hosting options and recommendations, see the guide here.

  2. Create a content item. Add the video URL, title, description, thumbnail, and assign it to a Collection. Collections determine which memberships unlock access to the content. For full setup steps, see the guide here.

Once set up, the content will appear in the On Demand library on the Customer Site for customers with a qualifying membership.

If your hosting platform supports oEmbed (like Vimeo), customers can watch the video directly within the platform. If not, they'll be redirected to your hosting platform to watch.

Content items can be edited or deleted from the On Demand section in your dashboard at any time.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» What customers see

Customers can access On Demand Content from their account on the Customer Site or through the Member Booking App. They'll see a dedicated On Demand section showing the Collections and videos available to them based on their membership.

Customers can also mark individual videos as favourites for easy access later.

To preview what your On Demand library looks like to customers, click the preview link at the top of the On Demand section in your dashboard.

Are there size limits on video content?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Size limits depend on the hosting platform you use, not on the platform. Check your hosting provider's plan details for their specific storage limits. For hosting options and recommendations, see the guide here.

Can I limit how many times a customer can watch a video?

Click the arrow to see the answer

There is no per-video view limit. However, you can control how long a customer has access by setting an expiry on their membership. Once the membership expires, they will no longer be able to access the content it unlocks.

Can I see which videos are most popular?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Yes. The Content Views report shows which customers viewed which videos and when, along with a summary of your most popular content. See the guide here.

Can customers on Packs access On Demand Content?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Packs cannot be linked to On Demand Collections. Only recurring memberships and prepaid plans can grant On Demand access. See the membership types guide here.
