Add/edit/delete a Class/Appointment registration confirmation notification

Do customers get an email after they book a class/appointment? Can I send my customers a confirmation when they register for a class?

In this guide we'll cover:

The registration confirmation notification is an automated email that goes out to customers when they register for a class or book an appointment.

This notification allows you to:

  • Send different emails per Class/Appointment type or venue.

  • Send an email for the first registration of a type or at a venue

By default, you'll find a general registration email already set up for you. You can edit this notification (see 'How to edit a class/appointment registration confirmation' in this guide), or if you don't want to send any registration confirmation emails at all, you can simply delete it (see 'How to delete a class/appointment registration confirmation' in this guide).

How to add a registration confirmation notification

To create a class registration confirmation notification, head to Communications >> Notifications >> Class/Appointment Registrations - Registration Confirmation >> click 'Details'.

Here, click 'Add an email'.

In the next step, you'll be able to set the conditions.

You can decide if the email should get sent to customers registering for all Class/Appointment Types, a single Class/Appointment, or several. You can also create a condition based on your venue/s.

The 'Advanced options' setting allows you to create an email that only gets triggered when it's a customer's first registration matching the selected Class/Appointment types and venues.

Tip. You can combine these conditions as needed. For example, if you have a Kettlebells class with multiple sessions throughout the week (some online and some offline), and you want to create a confirmation email that gets sent when someone registers for an online Kettlebells class, you would combine "The class type is - One of the following: Kettlebells" with "The venue is - One of the following: Online venue".

When you've finished setting the conditions, click 'Next'.

On this page, you'll be able to create the email. You can add placeholders* to customise the email further.

*Placeholders get replaced by data when the email is sent. For example, if you add the 'customer.first_name' placeholder, a customer named Joe Bloggs will see "Hi Joe" in their email.

Tip. If you're running online classes, we'd suggest using the 'class.video_join_button' placeholder in the confirmation email. This placeholder will insert a button to join the online class straight from the email.

Once done, click 'Create'.

You'll be able to see a preview of your emails from Communications >> Notifications >> Class/Appointment Registrations - Registration Confirmation >> click 'View emails with placeholders' or 'emails with sample values'.

How to edit a registration confirmation notification

To edit an existing email, head to Communications >> Notifications >> Class/Appointment Registrations - Registration Confirmation >> click 'Details'.

Then, click 'Edit' next to the desired email.

In the next step, you'll be able to edit the conditions. If you don't need to edit these and you just want to edit the email, click 'Next'. Here, you'll be able to edit the email. Once you've finished editing, click 'Save'.

How to delete a registration confirmation notification

To delete an existing email, head to Communications >> Notifications >> Class/Appointment Registrations - Registration Confirmation >> click 'Detail'.

Then, click 'Delete' next to the desired email.
