Charging your terminal

When you first receive the device, install the battery. With the back of the device facing you, lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover. Insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned.

After the battery is in place, charge the reader by using an outlet or the optional ethernet dock. Connect the reader to power by plugging the provided cable into the port with the lightning bolt symbol.

After the reader is fully charged, hold down the power button on the right hand side until the screen turns on. After the device powers on, press the power button to sleep or wake the device. To fully power off the device, hold down the power button until the power off option is shown on the screen, then select it.

Even when it’s not in use, leave the terminal plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates.

Connecting your terminal to the Internet

Once the terminal is charged, power it on by pressing the power button for 3 seconds and you will first be asked to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Select the option to connect to your Wi-Fi network add the terminal will scan for available networks to connect to, select the one you would like to connect it to, and enter your Wi-Fi password.

Once your terminal is connected to the internet, it will give you the option to either change your Wi-Fi network, or update the software, so please select to update the software in order to install the necessary updates.

The Wi-Fi network must use WPA or WPA2 encryption and have a password, and must also be the same network you will be using when taking in-person payments.

Select your language

You'll now be asked to select the language you would like the terminal to function in, along with the which country you're located in.

Find your registration code

Once you have entered your language and country, the terminal should be fully set up, and will display a registration code. Make a note of this registration code, as you will need this in order to connect your terminal to your TeamUp account.

If a registration code was not displayed, go to Settings on your terminal, enter the pin 07139 to access your settings, and select "Generate Pairing Code"

Connect your terminal to your TeamUp account

Now that you have your Registration Code, go to your TeamUp account and head to Settings Collect Payments Payment Methods, click on Manage next to the Terminals section.

Select "Add" to connect your terminal.

Enter the Label (what you'll call your terminal), the registration code from your terminal, select "New Location" and enter the address where your terminal will be located (your business address).
