Managing cash payments with TeamUp

This guide explains how to enable cash as a payment method, record a purchase paid in cash, and confirm cash payments under To-dos once you've received them.

Cash is an offline payment method. Once you've enabled it, you can record a purchase as paid by cash and then confirm it when the money is in hand. This guide covers enabling cash payments, recording a cash purchase, and confirming it on receipt.

You can record all the payments you receive in cash, so your records stay accurate even when a customer pays you in person.


🛠️ Enabling Cash Payments

Before you can record cash payments, you'll need to enable cash as a payment method. Go to your settings, open the Collect Payments section, and on the Payment Methods page click Activate next to cash.

Enabling cash payments defaults to allowing all your customers to pay by cash for all purchase types. You can control this by clicking the edit usability link in your payment settings and overriding the defaults for different customers.

💵 Recording a Cash Payment

With cash payments enabled, you'll have the option to record a purchase as cash — for example, when a customer hands you cash for a class pack.

Once you've added the payment, it will appear under To-dosOffline Payments, where you mark it as confirmed when you receive the cash.

Do I have to let all customers pay by cash?

How do I confirm a cash payment once I've received it?

A recorded cash payment appears under To-dosOffline Payments. Open the Actions menu next to it and mark it as confirmed once you've received the cash. For full details, see the guide here.

What happens if I don't confirm a cash payment?

It remains as a pending offline payment under To-dosOffline Payments until you confirm it on receipt of the cash, or void it if it's no longer required.
