â
𫸠Before you start
Your memberships and store products are set up in the main TeamUp dashboard.
You know which products/memberships you want to promote in the app.
Youâve decided whether youâll use TeamUpâs referral system or your own incentive structure.
đď¸ Store in the app
The Store section of the app lets members buy purchase merchandise and products youâve made available.
What Store is for
Selling merchandise from the app
Reducing front-desk workload by letting members self-serve
How it works for members
From the member view (for your context):
Members open the Store tab/menu item in the app.
They see the merchandise and products youâve chosen to make available.
They complete the purchase process directly in the app, then gain access to any membership-gated areas (for example On-Demand, Workouts, Meals, etc.).
đŤ Memberships in the app
The Memberships area shows members what memberships they can buy.
What Memberships is for
Showing available memberships/plans
Things to be aware of as an admin
Non-members can often see a Sign up or Memberships option and browse before committing. Anything thatâs membership-only will be paywalled until they buy.
Only members with an active membership can access gated areas like Meals, On-Demand, Workouts, Wearables, Progress and Challenges.
đ¨ Referral Offers
Use the Referral Offer settings in the Admin Console to configure how referrals are presented to members. Referrals are only visible in the Club Updates page.
What Referral Offers are for
Encouraging existing members to invite friends
Providing incentives (discounts, credits, or rewards) when referred friends join
Promoting your business in a controlled way
Setting up a referral offer (Admin Console)
Log into the Admin Console.
Go to Referral Offer.
Configure your headline/description to explain the offer clearly.
Add a custom image that will look good in the app.
Specify details of how the reward works (for example âGet a free week when a friend buys a membershipâ).
Save your changes.
Referral codes are managed directly on your TeamUp dashboard. Check our guide here for more info.
đ What members see: Referral Offer & Store
To understand the member experience:
In the app, members see a Referral or similar section where your configured referral message and image appear.
They may get a link or sharing options (depending on your setup) so they can invite friends easily.
New prospects can then sign up via the app and purchase memberships through Store or Memberships, which can trigger your referral conditions.

When a user signs up in the app without a membership, they can browse and look around, but certain areas stay locked. Only members with an active membership can access: Meals, On-Demand, Workouts, Wearables, Progress and Challenges. Non-members who try to open these will hit a paywall prompting them to buy a membership first.
Iâm an Admin â donât I also have a membership?

Not automatically. Admin access lets you configure the app and content, but it doesnât grant member-level access to paywalled areas. If you want to see the app exactly as a paying member would, assign yourself a zero-value membership in the main TeamUp dashboard. This removes paywalls for your test account without affecting billing.
A member says they canât access content after purchasing. Why?

Confirm their payment and membership are active in the main TeamUp dashboard.
Check theyâre logged in with the same email they used to purchase.
Ask them to fully close and reopen the app to refresh their status.
If the content is gated by Groups, verify that their membership is correctly syncing into the group you used for access rules (see the Access & Visibility guide).
How can I set certain products/memberships to be visible only to specific members?

Use Groups & content visibility:
Create membership-synced groups in the Admin Console.
In your main TeamUp setup and feature selection, ensure only those groups/memberships can see specific products or content.
Test with a test member account in that group to confirm the experience.
